Power of attorney granted to Juan and Francisco Llorente : Mexico City, 1662 Nov. 16.

Certified statement identifying Isabel Tello de Sandoval (née Tello y Portugal) as wife, principal heir, and executor of the estate of Garci Tello de Sandoval, chief accountant for the military orders of Santiago, Calatrava, and Alcántara, and corregidor of Mexico City, who died in Mexico City on December 7, 1656. Doña Isabel conveys power of attorney to Juan Llorente and Francisco Llorente, commercial agents (agentes de negocios) in Madrid, enabling them to represent her in all legal actions and judicial proceedings pertaining to the audit of the accounts kept by Diego Martínez de Alamos, who had been administrator of her husband's estate from March 7, 1653 until the present. As her husband's heir, she raises questions about rents which were never collected by Martínez, as well as the whereabouts of items belonging to the estate, in particular a string of pearls weighing 18 ounces and valued at 90 pesos per ounce which remained in Martínez's possession when Isabel and her husband left Spain, along with other furniture and ornaments listed elsewhere. The power of attorney is executed in Mexico City on November 16, 1662 by clerk Pedro Moreno de Velasco.
